Organizing Categories in Smart Chat

The Smart Chat feature now includes the ability to categorize your contacts, making it easier to manage and interact with them effectively. This article will guide you through the process of creating, managing, and utilizing categories within Smart Chat. 

Creating Categories 

To create a new category, follow these steps: 

  1. Access Smart Chat: Click on the Smart Chat feature in your application.
  2. Organize Categories: Select the option to organize categories.
  3. Add New Category: Click on "Add New Category".
  4. Name and Color: Provide a name for the category and, if desired, select a color to differentiate it visually.
  5. Save: Click the Save button to finalize and display the new category.

Assigning Categories to Contacts 

Once you have created categories, you can assign them to your contacts: 

  1. Select Contact: Choose the contact you want to categorize.
  2. Assign Category: Navigate to the category column and select the appropriate category, such as "test".
  3. Include or Exclude: You can choose to include or exclude categories as needed for your organization.

Using Categories 

The categorization feature offers various ways to manage your contacts: 

  1. Search and Filter: Use the category column to search for and filter contacts by their assigned categories. This helps you quickly find specific groups of contacts.
  2. Excluding Categories: If you want to exclude certain contacts from a view or action, simply select the categories you wish to exclude.

Use Cases

Here are some ideas on how you can use the categorization function:

  • Send the same message to all contacts in one category (Video)
  • Interesting contacts: Filter all contacts marked as "interesting contact" to work with them specifically.
  • Important contacts: Show only the contacts that are categorized as "important contact".
  • Follow up: Find all contacts that require follow up by using the "needs follow up" category.
  • Assign employees: Mark contacts to be called by a specific employee and filter them accordingly.
