Which texts should I use? Which messages work?

How to create effective messages for LinkedIn.

Important information in advance

  • The messages depend on your target group, your business and your profile.
  • If you don't have an optimized profile, even the best text won't do you any good.
  • The same applies to a suboptimal target group.

Connection Messages

We do not currently recommend using networking texts so that your acceptance rate increases and nobody can interpret a sales intention in your messages before being connected

However, if you want to use a Connection texts, use a general text such as:
Hello ...,
  • Cool content. I'd love to learn more about it!
  • Your profile was suggested to me on LinkedIn. Probably because we both have companies and might have professional touchpoints. If you're interested, let's connect!
  • I looked at your profile with great interest. Very interesting, congratulations. I may have exciting contacts and potential clients for you.
  • I saw that you are the owner of a technology company, definitely a very exciting and challenging task! :) If you're open to it, I'd love to connect.

Adjust the texts to your preferences. Use your own words. When connecting, you should not pitch or directly ask about needs. The goal of a connection request is to bring the contact into your network so you can write to them at any time, even months later, if they don't have a need right now. The better your profile is optimized, the higher the connection acceptance rate. We support you with this! Press the support button in CompLeadly.

Pitch or demand request texts (ideally not in the first message)

When should you pitch or ask about the need?
We recommend using a welcome or thank you message as the first message after the successful networking acceptance. Only one or two days later should you start with the needs analysis or a pitch.

Which pitch or needs analysis texts

The motto here is "test test test" and "he who asks, leads".

Don't pitch superficially, but ask about their situation, their needs and their challenges.

Here is an example from Jordan Belfort (The Wolf of Wallstreet):

Enhance

You can ask directly or formulate gentle questions.
Direct
  • Let's get to the point… Benefits and/or question!
  • Let's cut to the chase… Benefits and/or question!
  • Let's skip the pleasantries… Benefits and/or question!
 Gentle
  • I've found out how, that... Would that be relevant for you?
  • Are you already privately insured or are you still paying expensive public health insurance?
