How to Withdraw LinkedIn Invitations and What to Consider

More importantly, LinkedIn does not appreciate it when you send invitations to people you do not know.

No problem, LinkedIn allows you to withdraw such invitations. With CompLeadly, this can even be done automatically and on a daily basis, so you don't have to remember to do it.

In this article, you'll learn how to manually do this and what you should consider.

Step-by-Step Guide for Withdrawing an Invitation

  1. Click on the network icon at the top of the LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Click on "View All."
  3. Click on "Sent." Here, you will see a list of invitations that you've sent to people, company pages, and events that have not yet been accepted.
  4. Click "Withdraw" next to the name of the recipient.
  5. Confirm your decision in the popup window that appears. Direct link: https://www.linkedin.com/mynetwork/invitation-manager/sent/

Important Notes

  • Time Frame: You can only withdraw invitations if the recipient has not yet responded. After withdrawing an invitation, you can't send another one to this recipient for three weeks. Note: The 'Connect' button may reappear on the contact's profile, but the invitation itself will not appear to the contact for three weeks.

  • No Bulk Action: There is no option to withdraw multiple invitations at once. Each invitation must be withdrawn individually. Therefore, we recommend using CompLeadly for this.

  • No Notification to the Recipient: When you withdraw an invitation, the recipient does not receive any more reminder emails and is otherwise not informed.

  • Irreversible Action: Once the invitation is withdrawn, this action cannot be undone.

  • Blocked Invitations: There is no way to view or unblock blocked invitations.

  • Already Accepted Invitations: If the recipient has already accepted your invitation, you still have the option to remove them as a contact. To do this, go to their profile and click on the 'More' button.

Withdrawing LinkedIn invitations is a relatively simple process, but there are a few points you should consider. So, it's worth keeping the above notes in mind.
