Contact not found in invite list 🇬🇧
Occasionally, a desired contact may not appear in the invitation list, even though you'd like to use this contact in the invite function via Sales Navigator.
Possible reasons why a contact is not available
If a contact does not appear in the invitation list, this may be due to the following reasons:
-
Contact is second or third degree: LinkedIn limits the ability to invite people who are not part of your direct (1st-degree) network.
-
Technical limitations on LinkedIn's side: Sometimes, LinkedIn's interface does not provide a complete data set, which can result in gaps — in other words, a temporary issue on LinkedIn’s end (bug). In rare cases, a contact who should be available for an invitation might not appear due to technical glitches.
-
The contact’s individual privacy settings: Some users restrict visibility for certain features.
What you can do
If you notice that a contact cannot be reached via the invite function, you can take the following steps:
-
Check if the contact is indeed a second or third-degree connection, meaning they’re not directly connected with you.
-
Try entering the contact manually into the invite function and see if they appear there.
-
Check again a few hours or a day later to see if the contact is then available.
