1. What Happens When Sending a Connection Request?

When you send a connection request on LinkedIn, you do not automatically become a follower of the person. Only when the request is accepted, you become a follower. This means:

  • Connection request sent: You are not a follower.
  • Connection request accepted: You automatically become a follower.

If you were already following the person before sending the connection request, you will remain a follower—regardless of whether the request is accepted or withdrawn.

2. Withdrawing a Connection Request and Follower Status

Withdrawing a previously sent connection request does not change your follower status.

  • If you were not following the person before sending the request, you will not become a follower after withdrawing it.
  • If you were already a follower, you will remain one—even if you withdraw the connection request.
