Archiving and Removing Contacts in Smart Chat
In Smart Chat, you have various options for managing contacts and chats. It is important to understand the difference between deleting and archiving chats to make the best use of these features.
Archiving Chats
When you archive a chat, it is removed from your active view but remains stored in the database. This means:
- The archived chat is still accessible if you need it again.
- If the contact sends a new message, the archived chat will automatically reappear in your active chat list.
- Archiving is the recommended method if you want to temporarily remove chats from the main view without losing the history.
Deleting Chats
When you delete a chat, it is completely removed from the database. The following points apply:
- Deleted chats cannot be restored. The entire conversation history is permanently erased.
- If the contact appears again in Smart Chat via LinkedIn Chat after deletion, a completely new entry will be created in Smart Chat.
